Behind The Music
At 22, Australian country singer-songwriter Kiana Tomic is carving her own path with a sound built on grit, heart and a whole lot of country.
She didn’t grow up on the land or in the country music world. She chose it. Living and working on the land taught her what hard work really looks like. The early mornings, the long days, the sacrifice and the satisfaction of earning every step forward. Those experiences became the backbone of her songwriting.
Now, she’s taken that same determination from the land to the stage.
Kiana writes songs about the things that leave a mark. Heartbreak, resilience, revenge, getting back up and refusing to stay down. Her music pairs contemporary country production with the rawness of real-life stories, bringing together the grit of the Australian country lifestyle with a modern edge.
Her latest releases, “Velvet” and “Two Wrongs,” show two sides of that storytelling. From a country girl’s perspective on bowhunting to the battle between getting even and rising above the hurt, Kiana isn’t afraid to write about the things that aren’t always said out loud.
For Kiana, music isn’t about fitting into a mould. It’s about telling the truth, working hard and chasing something bigger.
For Kiana, the destination has never been comfort. It’s greatness.
